Workshop content:

Scientists are highly qualified specialists and experts in their area. At the same time, many scientists feel that the skills and competencies acquired  uring their doctoral and postdoctoral work are not marketable outside university, and that there is no alternative in industry and business. This point of view narrows the possibilities of a career both within and outside  of the scientific arena. This seminar is designed to reflect on one's own competences and to recognize one's own 'market value', to learn about the options and requirements for a university career and alternative career paths outside the university and to create your own career through conviction, and not by feeling a lack of perspective.

Dr. Dieta Kuchenbrandt is a psychologist by training and has been working as a scientist for several years. In her company schainundkuchenbrandt she offers trainings, consultations and coachings together with her business partner, which are aimed at doctoral students, post-graduates, junior professors and first-time professionals. They focus on the special requirements and difficulties of the academic profession. The goal at schainundkuchenbrandt is to support scientists in planning their career paths better, to be able to cope with the special requirements of the scientific profession and, above all, to be able to carry out their profession in the long term with joy and satisfaction.
