The successful acquisition of competitive third-party funding is a key performance measure for universities and is also considered an important success criterion for an academic career. Entering the postdoc phase opens up opportunities for early career researchers to independently acquire larger sums of money and thus realize their own project ideas. Acquiring third-party funding is a major challenge, and as a postdoc you are initially faced with numerous unanswered questions, such as
What "pitfalls" are there in the application process and how do I avoid them? How can I convince the reviewers of my project ideas? Should I tackle the application on my own or as part of a team? How much time do I need to allow for?

Aims of the workshop

As part of the workshop, the Research Management and Transfer department will present the most important aspects of submitting a proposal using the DFG grant as an example and encourage a creative discussion of the specific requirements of such a third-party funding proposal in an interactive exchange.
