Participants will learn about the opportunities and challenges of interdisciplinary work, communication, and cooperation in project work. After this workshop, the young scientists will be able to design interdisciplinary research with regard to the communication and cooperation of diverse participants.

Questions and fields of the following three topics will be discussed and answered:
 

Interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary work

• How do subjects and disciplines distinguish themselves from each other?
• What are the challenges of working across subjects and disciplines?
• What are the opportunities and benefits of interdisciplinary research?
   

Trans- and Interdisciplinary Cooperation

• What are the characteristics of trans- and interdisciplinary collaborations?
• How can interdisciplinary collaborations be actively shaped?
• Recognizing and mastering the challenges of interdisciplinary projects
   

Communicating scientific content clearly and comprehensibly

• Collective and cooperative thinking in a scientific and research context
• Finding a common language in research teams
• Rules of the game for successful inter- and transdisciplinarity
   

Procedure
Participants will receive a preparatory assignment 14 days prior to the workshop (approx. 30-40 minutes). In group and individual exercises, the methods and contents of the workshop are directly applied to the prepared research topics. This ensures the transfer of learning. And it creates an interdisciplinary exchange between the participants. The workshop thrives on mutual feedback and interdisciplinary exchange. This preparation will be sent to the lecturer 1-2 days before the workshop.
