In this HeRA lunch, representatives of the German Postdoc Network (GPN) will introduce the network, its mission, and its work to support postdocs across Germany — including ongoing efforts to establish a commonly accepted definition of the postdoc phase within the German research landscape.

A representative from TH Köln has also been invited to share her experiences with local postdoc representation and discuss why engagement at the local and regional level is a crucial component of broader advocacy efforts.

Whether you are interested in learning more about the resources and opportunities offered by the GPN or in engaging with the wider conversation around postdoctoral advocacy, you are warmly invited to join. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the event.

About the German Postdoc Network (GPN): The GPN is a nationwide organization that connects postdoctoral researchers across Germany. It supports postdocs through networking, career development resources, and community-building, while also advocating for improved working conditions and career prospects in academia and research. The network serves as a collective voice for postdocs in discussions with research institutions, funding organizations, and policymakers.
