Modules of the Certificate Programme
"Skills for Careers in Business and Society"
Initial interview
Before you start in the certificate programme "Skills for careers in business and society", we would like to talk to you in a personal career interview.
The initial interview is primarily informational in nature, in that the contents and goals of the certificate are presented, explained in detail, and compared with the individual career goals of the participant. The following questions are discussed:
- Positioning yourself: What is my professional situation right now?
- Setting objectives:
- How do I want to advance my career?
- How can the certificate programme support my intentions?
- Suitability: Can my personal goals be realised with the help of the certificate?
- Content: Which topics do I want to focus on?
Competence areas
The programme is divided into five modules comprising a total of at least 80 work units (45 minutes each), which build on one another in a systematic way. Each individual module covers at least eight WUs (Module E = at least four WUs).
In addition to fulfilling the mandatory units in modules A-E (in total 36 work units), the remaining 44 work units can be completed depending on the individual focus of the participants. In this way, defined areas of competence can be strengthened further. The certificate can be obtained flexibly and according to the needs of the participants.
The certificate is designed as a NRW certificate across eight universities. Participants have the possibility to take courses at all member universities (see partner universities in the right column), if there are free capacities. The conditions of participation for participants from partner universities depend on the requirements of the respective university offering the event.

- Which contents of the completed workshops were particularly helpful? What were the most important insights?
- At which points did questions arise?
- Were the expectations of the participants met? Which contents were not covered by the certificate?
- What are the next steps?
